Nikki Zimmerman is a consultant for IBM and on the road most of the week. She grew up in Florida playing every sport under the sun which led her to Winthrop University as a collegiate athlete. In grad school at USC she met the love of her life in between living in Italy and traveling to other far off lands. He finally roped her in and she joined him in Greenville in 2006. In 2007 Nikki started mountain biking after being motivated by her in-laws to hit the trails on two wheels instead of two legs and in 2009 she completed her first year of road riding & racing with the GHS Every Woman cycling team. In 2010, Nikki’s involvement in racing grew as she participated in 8 races throughout the year, placing 3rd in one and 4th in the Omnium for the Greenville Spring Training Series, and completed her first triathlon. In 2011 Nikki started off the year strong participating in the Charlotte Winter Short Track Series with teammate Jackie Batson. Nikki ended up finishing 2nd overall for the series. Mid-way through the year Nikki became pregnant and took a step back from competitive riding & racing. She focused more on helping new women riders begin their cycling journey on Greenville’s Swamp Rabbit Trail.
For 2012, Nikki’s goals include the delivery of a healthy baby boy, and getting back into riding and racing with her teammates on GHS Every Woman Cycling!! She is thankful to find a team like the GHS Every Woman ladies with which to train, ride, race, and have fun.
