Lisa Barwick easily adapted to the sport of cycling, realizing the benefits were numerous – better physical condition, increased social network of like-mined friends and phenomenal growth in emotional spirit. Lisa has lived in the Upstate for nearly 13 years and considers Greenville her home. She is employed by Greenville Hospital System as a Human Resources Manager.
Lisa is an avid road cyclist, enjoying both the recreational and competitive sides of cycling. As a recreational cyclist, weekend cycling is a staple in her schedule. Her competitive side is nourished by tackling challenging events with longer distances, tough terrain (climbing) and rides that include multiple days of mileage. Her competitive spirit is most alive when she competes in triathlons and running events.
Realizing the need for the support of experienced cyclists as she began road cycling, Lisa is supportive of new cyclists and encouraging experienced cyclists to achieve their full potential. She knows that the cycling experience, in its totality, can nurture the heart and soul of a woman, literally and figuratively. She is honored to be able to give back to the cycling community as part of the Upstate’s largest women’s cycling team – Greenville Hospital System – Every Woman Cycling Team.
