Diane Jackson believes in the strong, healthy potential of every woman.

A competitive swimmer as a child, Diane returned to the pool—part of an overall return to fitness—during college. She later added running to her routine; then, in 2007, she bought a bike so she could try a tri … and immediately fell in love with cycling for its own sake.

In the five years since, she’s logged thousands of road miles, with highlights thus far including Assault on Mt. Mitchell and the South Carolina State Road Race. Goals for 2012 include her fourth AAOM along with more centuries, triathlons, road races and, of course, her greatest athletic passion of all: cheering for her two sons in the pool and on the soccer field.

Diane is a freelance journalist with a variety of professional accolades to her credit. As a member of the GHS EveryWoman Cycling Team, she most enjoys encouraging other women to join the cycling community and therefore leads the team’s weekly ladies ride.

She believes it’s never too late to hop on a bike, even if—indeed, especially if—you’re a middle-aged mom.
