Using the breathtaking countryside from “The Patriot” as her personal stage, Kristen brought home 2nd place in the Rock Hill Bicycle Club’s, “Patriot’s Trail Road Race” on April 5th, 2009.

The 45 mile, multi-loop race took place in Historic Brattonsville at the southern end of York County.  It was a challenging course of rolling hills and teammate Elizabeth Brady was there riding with her.

At the “Out Like a Lion” weekend in Salisbury, NC, the Greenville Hospital’s Every Woman cycling team showed up to race!  Team member Kristen Weinacker took home 5th place in the Uwharrie Wheelmen Road Race Saturday March 21st.

Kristen: “I was able to hang with the big girls each of the 5 laps, and finally was “dropped” around the last corner, because I corner slowly, with a little bit less than a mile to go. I really should have placed higher, I know I was capable. Cornering is something I need to work on. I’m the last one making the corner and the girls on the front of the line are already sprinting for home. Someone should have told them to wait up for me! But, I definitely gained some confidence and am looking forward to the next one.”

Teammate Elizabeth Brady was also there representing team GHS Every Woman and riding in support of Kristen.

Jennifer Reece and Jackie Batson braved the Blankets Creek Dirty Duathlon in Canton, GA on a rainy, muddy, cold Saturday in March.  The race was brutal, the trail unforgiving.  Jackie placed 4th in her age category.

Kristen Weinacker of team GHS Every Woman took home a first place finish in the River Falls Road Race Saturday March 7th, 2009!  She rode steady and strong towards the back of the pack to start the race.  During the 2nd lap, as riders started to fall back after sharp turns and a tough climb, Kristen took that as her cue to start moving toward the front.  On the 4th and final lap 9 riders were sprinting to the line and Kristen held them off for a 1st place result.  Go Kristen! Team members Kelly Patton, Jackie LaFontaine, Elizabeth Brady, and Nikki Zimmerman also raced and finished strong.
