Robin Blackburn, Lisa Barwick, and Rene McCurdy participated in the Greenville Spinners time trial series on May 5. Robin took 2nd and Lisa placed 3rd. CONGRATS, ladies!!!

Teammate Rene McCurdy took a trip to St. Petersburg, Florida to race in the St. Anthony’s Triathlon on May 1. She placed 9th in her division with a time of 2:53:50! NICE!

Teammates Jennifer Reece and Heather Webber volunteered their time to give out helmets for Safe Kids at the Greenville Drive baseball game on April 28. Thanks for supporting our community ladies!!

The GHS Every Woman Team attended the Easley Spring Fling on April 9, a great event supported by a great team sponsor, SunTrust Bank. The team lead out the metric century ride on a beautiful Saturday. A good time was had by all!!

Courtney McDonald spent a race-filled weekend in the state of Alabama on April 9 and 10. She placed 22nd for Cat 3/4 in the Sunny King Crit! The next day, she placed 5th in the Foothills Road Race for Cat 4 Women. Woo hoo!!!!

Our 2011 team camp was the best ever! Organized by Jim Cunningham of Greenville Cycling Center, we learned more than we could have hoped about all things cycling….and each other… in just two days. We participated in a CompuTrainer team time trial, practiced cornering and other skills, learned about the best training regimens and racing tactics, and best of all….we had FUN! What a great team of women we have!!

Teammates Heather Webber and Courtney McDonald raced the first event in the Spring Series at Donaldson Center on February 19. Despite a nasty crash in the pack that took both teammates down, both finished the race strong, with Courtney in 8th place and Heather in 9th place in the Cat 4 division. GREAT job!!!
Courtney also raced the River Falls event on March 3, placing 3rd for Cat 4 women!! An incredible finish especially considering the weather on the day of this event. Go Courtney!

Jackie Batson and Nikki Zimmerman finished up the dirt crit series in Charlotte with a bang! After participating in 5 races, Jackie placed 1st, winning the series in the Cat 3 division. After racing in only four events, Nikki won 2nd place for the series in the Cat 3 division!
Way to go, ladies! What a great event – we look forward to participating again next year. They serve awesome homemade soups after each race
